Job Description:
We invite highly qualified applicants to join our Music Department for a temporary full time Faculty position for the 2009-2010 academic year, pending budget approval. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing and developing the college symphony orchestra, teaching in the applied area (either violin/viola or cello/bass), string methods, chamber music and assisting in the core curriculum, which may include teaching music theory and/or ear training/solfege. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high profile in professional organizations.
Requirements:
- Earned Doctorate in Music, Conducting or Performance preferred (ABD considered)
- Successful record of college level teaching
- Successful secondary school teaching experience desired
- Evidence of strong teaching skills
- Success at demonstrating the highest level of musicianship as a conductor and performer
