Job Description:

The College of Saint Rose Communications Department invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Public Relations and Advertising tenure track faculty position for the 2010-2011 academic year.  

Responsibilities include undergraduate/graduate teaching, research, academic advisement, and service in relevant academic areas.  As a member of the Saint Rose faculty, the applicant is expected to teach assigned courses in accordance with relevant academic policies; produce scholarly works as evidence of professional advancement or accomplishment; engage in grant writing, and serve Saint Rose's communities through participation in School and College-wide committees and events.

The primary responsibility of the position is teaching the courses in the curriculum, and serving the students, sometimes through independent projects, internships and the capstone courses. A typical teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, and course load varies from 3 to 4 courses and requires some evening courses, especially at the graduate level.  See undergraduate and graduate catalogs for course descriptions.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining office hours, working on committees at the college, school, and departmental level, participation in recruitment events such as open houses, and other special projects that advance the department. Further information can be found in The College's Faculty Manual.  Leadership opportunities may arise to coordinate the graduate program or to chair the department.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Communications.  ABD acceptable, provided Ph.D. conferred by August 1, 2010. Applicant must have a minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in a public relations setting.
