Job Description:
The Department of Literacy and Special Education seeks to fill a fulltime, tenure track Assistant Professor of Special Education faculty position for the 2010-2011 academic year. Responsibilities include undergraduate/graduate teaching, research, academic advisement, and service in relevant academic areas. As a member of the Saint Rose faculty, the applicant is expected to teach assigned courses in accordance with relevant academic policies; produce scholarly works as evidence of professional advancement or accomplishment; engage in grant writing, and serve The College's communities through participation in School and College-wide committees and events.
Requirements:
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a special education, or closely related field, conferred by August 1, 2010. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: assessment of students with disabilities in grades 1 to 12; literacy pre-Kindergarten to grade 6; curriculum and instruction in special education grades 5 to 12; and students with moderate and severe disabilities. Minimum three (3) years of experience teaching students with disabilities also required.
