Job Description:
The College of Saint Rose Thelma P. Lally School of Education Department of Teacher Education invites applicants for a fulltime, tenure track Assistant Professor of Teacher Education, Secondary (Adolescence) Education faculty position for the 2010-2011 academic year. The Department of Teacher Education at The College of Saint Rose is committed to preparing teachers who will effectively educate learners in diverse communities and in a variety of educational settings. We work to develop teacher candidates who promote learning for P-12 students with a wide-range of abilities. The department seeks highly motivated, progressive educators. Responsibilities include undergraduate/graduate teaching, research, academic advisement, and service in relevant academic areas. As a member of the Saint Rose faculty, the applicant is expected to teach assigned courses in accordance with relevant academic policies; produce scholarly works as evidence of professional advancement or accomplishment; participate in department-based student learning outcome assessment, program evaluation and program development; and to serve The College's communities through participation in School and College-wide committees and events.
Requirements:
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education-related field. ABD acceptable provided Ph.D. conferred by December 1, 2010. Active scholarship; ability to work collaboratively with local districts; minimum two (2) years teaching experience at the grades 7-12 level.
